 I love capturing newborn photos in the comfort of a family's home because it brings out a genuine, peaceful vibe that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. There’s something special about photographing babies in their own space — where they first begin to explore the world.

The familiar surroundings allow for more relaxed, authentic moments. Parents are often more at ease, which lets me focus on those beautiful interactions — whether it’s a quiet cuddle on the sofa, a sleepy stretch, or the soft light streaming through a nursery window. The home setting also gives me the chance to highlight the little details that make each family’s story unique, from the carefully chosen nursery decor to the cosy little spaces that feel like home. It’s a beautiful way to document the start of a new chapter in the most personal, intimate way possible.

Additionally, the familiar surroundings mean you don’t have to worry about rushing to a studio, especially in those first few weeks when the best place to be is in your own little bubble. You can stay in your own space while I capture the fleeting, precious moments. It’s a quieter, more relaxed experience that helps me create timeless, emotional images.

Babies are never "too old" for photos! That being said, newborn photos are best taken within the first few weeks, when your new baby is still sleepy and relaxed. I know that it can be a hectic time so if you're looking for photos, I'd suggest getting in touch as soon as you can. There's no age limit though, your baby is just likely to be more alert and awake as time goes on which is, of course, absolutely fine but means the approach to the shoot will be slightly different. 

At-home newborn shoots are £150 in and around the Dundee area and include a full online gallery with free, unlimited downloads. Shoots outwith the area will include a small travel fee.
